Nicole Lara is the administrative director of the California Fugitive Recovery Academy and is the foundation of the whole organization. Her career is emphasized on management, criminal justice and the legal field.
She received her Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and has years of experience working in the legal field, investigations, and security. She is currently attending John F. Kennedy University to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies Degree. Her experience in the legal and criminal justice field has proven invaluable to the California Fugitive Recovery Academy and she is a vital and welcome member of our team.
Zhen started his career in security services approximately 10 years ago. He worked his way from line security officer to shift supervisor. From there Zhen was sponsored to Napa Police Academy by a local police agency. Currently, Zhen is still an active member of the law enforcement community.
Zhen is passionate about security training and is currently a certified BSIS baton, firearms, and guard card instructor. He is also certified in instructing NRA pistol, PepperSpray/OC, and handcuffing.
Zhen is active in the Security industry as well as an active member of Calsaga (Calsaga.org) and ASIS International (asisonline.org), with a pending certification in their CPP program. Zhen is also a BSIS Qualified Manager and owns and operates a Private Security company.
Zhen brings his training, experiences, and insight to this training facility.
Joseph has been a peace officer in the State of California since 1966. He served in the positions of Deputy Sheriff, Police Officer, Police Detective, District Attorney Investigator, State Investigator, Lead Senior Investigator, and Supervising Special Investigator I / Lieutenant. I worked as a Resident Deputy Sheriff for the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department and then worked for the Winters Police Department.
Joseph also worked with the Department of Developmental Services’ Headquarters Office in Sacramento. While at Headquarters, he was assigned to the Professional and Standards Branch of the Office of Protective Services (OPS). He obtained Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) training to conduct Peace Officer background investigations and Peace Officer Internal Affairs investigations.
He graduated from California State University at Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts Degree. He continued with his education taking Peace Officer Standards of Training courses and other courses to refresh and improve his skills. He holds five POST Certificates, which are: three general law enforcement certificates (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced) and two specialized investigator certificates (Intermediate and Advanced). He is a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, NRA Rifle Instructor, NRA, In Home Firearms Safety Instructor. He carries a lifetime Secondary Teaching Credential for all law enforcement subjects and recently completed the POST Supervisory Core Course. He also has a State Secondary Education Life Time Teaching Credential and teaches criminal justice courses.
He successfully manages his own security company and has managed others. In addition to his extensive background he is also a BSIS Instructor in Firearms and Baton.
